What does Gupshup charge on top of WhatsApp’s fee?

Gupshup’s pricing page lists a fee of $0.001 on every text message, outgoing and incoming, on top of what Meta charges. Since 1 January 2026 it also adds a 6% markup to Meta’s marketing fee for marketing sent through Cloud API.

Does Gupshup charge for incoming messages?

Gupshup’s help centre describes its fee as a per-message fee charged for every incoming and outgoing text message. WhatChimp charges no per-message fee at all.

Is WhatChimp cheaper than Gupshup?

It depends on volume. Gupshup has no monthly plan, so at a few thousand messages a month its fees are lower than a WhatChimp plan. As volume grows the per-message fee and the 6% marketing markup grow with it, while WhatChimp stays a flat $24 a month billed yearly or $40 monthly, with 0% added to Meta’s price.

Does Gupshup have a team inbox and a chatbot builder without code?

Gupshup’s self-serve WhatsApp product is an API with per-message pricing. WhatChimp includes a shared team inbox, a drag and drop chatbot builder and bulk broadcasts in every plan.

Can I move my WhatsApp number from Gupshup to WhatChimp?

Yes. Meta allows a WhatsApp Business API number to move between providers. You turn off two-step verification on the number in Gupshup, connect it inside WhatChimp, and it takes about five minutes. The number, its messaging limit, quality rating, display name and tick come with it.

Will my customers notice the switch?

No. The number stays the same and there is no downtime, so customers go on writing to you the way they do today.
