WhatsApp API providers
WhatsApp API providers, compared on what you actually pay
A WhatsApp API provider connects your number to Meta’s WhatsApp Business API and gives you the tools to use it. Meta charges every provider the same for each message. What differs is what the provider adds on top. We read the pricing pages of 12 providers and set them side by side, WhatChimp included.

The short answer
WhatsApp API providers in six facts
What a provider is, what it charges for, and what stays yours.
- What a provider is
- A company that connects your phone number to Meta’s WhatsApp Business API and gives you the tools to use it. Meta calls them Business Solution Providers, or BSPs.
- What is the same everywhere
- Meta’s charge for each message. A marketing message to India costs every provider $0.0118, whichever one you choose.
- What is different
- What the provider adds on top: a plan fee, a markup on every message, or a fixed fee per message. That is the whole price difference.
- What stays yours
- The number and the WhatsApp Business account sit in your own Meta business portfolio. You can move the number to another provider.
- Do you need one
- No. Developers can use Meta’s Cloud API directly. A provider earns its fee with the inbox, campaigns and chatbots the API does not include.
- Official or not
- Real providers use Meta’s official API. Tools that automate WhatsApp Web are not providers, and WhatsApp bans numbers that use them.
The real cost
What the same messages cost at each provider
Meta charges every provider $0.0118 for a marketing message to India. This is what each provider charges you for it, before any plan fee.
Bill for 10,000 marketing messages to India
Per message: Meta’s India marketing rate of $0.0118, plus what each provider adds as its own pages state it. Where a provider prices in rupees, its markup is the ratio of its rupee rate to Meta’s (₹0.8631). Gupshup’s fee is counted once per message; Zoko’s fee is per conversation, counted here as one per person messaged. DoubleTick does not publish its rates and is left off. Plan fees are not included; they are in the table below. Read on 15 October 2026.

How providers make money
Three ways a WhatsApp API provider charges you
Every pricing page is one of these, or a mix. Once you know which, you know how your bill grows.
A plan, and Meta’s rate passed through
Plan fee+Meta’s rate × messages
You pay the provider for the software and Meta for each message, at Meta’s price. Sending more costs you exactly what it costs Meta.
Who works this wayWhatChimp, 360dialog, WANotifier
A plan, and a markup on every message
Plan fee+(Meta’s rate + markup) × messages
The provider resells each message above Meta’s price, usually from a prepaid wallet. The markup is a share of every campaign, so it grows as you grow.
Who works this wayWati, AiSensy, Gallabox, QuickReply.ai, Interakt
A fee on every message
(Meta’s rate + fee) × messages
No plan, or a small one, and a fixed fee added to each message or conversation. Cheap to start; at volume the fee is usually the largest line.

An honest answer
Which provider fits which business
The cheapest provider is not the best one for everyone. This is where each kind fits.
Developers with one narrow job
Meta Cloud API, direct
Passcodes or order updates sent from your own app, and nobody reading replies. No provider fee at all, and your team maintains the code.
Developers who want a hosted API and support
360dialog
Meta’s rate with nothing added, priced per number. You still build the screens your team uses.
One vendor for SMS, voice, email and WhatsApp
Twilio
A single API across channels. You pay $0.005 on every WhatsApp message, sent or received, and build the tools yourself.
Teams that sell and support on WhatsApp
WhatChimp
Campaigns, a shared inbox, chatbots and an AI agent with no code, at Meta’s rate with 0% added. From $24 a month.

Switching providers
Your number moves. Your customers notice nothing.
Meta lets a WhatsApp Business API number move from one provider to another. This is what comes with it.
The same number
Customers keep writing to the number they already know. Nothing changes on their side.
Limit, rating, name and tick
Your messaging limit, quality rating, display name and verification tick come across with the number.
About five minutes
Turn off two-step verification on the number at your current provider, then connect it inside WhatChimp.

Frequently asked questions
WhatsApp API provider questions
Short answers first. Can’t find yours? See every question or chat with our team.
What is a WhatsApp API provider?
A company that connects a business phone number to Meta’s WhatsApp Business API and supplies the tools to use it, such as a team inbox, bulk campaigns and chatbots. Meta calls these companies Business Solution Providers, or BSPs. The messages themselves are always carried and charged by Meta.
What is a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP)?
BSP is Meta’s own name for a WhatsApp API provider: a company Meta has approved to connect businesses to the WhatsApp Business Platform. WhatChimp is a Meta Business Partner and an official provider.
Which WhatsApp API provider is the cheapest?
For the messages themselves, the cheapest are the providers that pass Meta’s rate through with nothing added: WhatChimp, 360dialog and WANotifier, or Meta’s Cloud API used directly. A marketing message to India then costs $0.0118. Compare plan fees and what each plan includes next: on WhatChimp the first plan is $24 a month billed yearly.
Is Meta’s price the same at every provider?
Yes. Meta charges the same rate for a message whichever provider sends it, set by the message category and the recipient’s country. Any difference you see on a provider’s rate card is that provider’s markup or fee.
Do WhatsApp API providers charge a markup?
Many do. On their own published rate cards for a marketing message to India, Wati adds about 60%, AiSensy about 26%, QuickReply.ai about 21%, Gallabox about 15% and Interakt 10% to 12%. Twilio adds $0.005 per message instead. WhatChimp adds 0%.
Can I use the WhatsApp Business API without a provider?
Yes. Developers can build on Meta’s Cloud API directly and pay only Meta’s rates. You then build and maintain the inbox, campaign tools and chatbots yourself, which is what a provider sells.
How do I choose a WhatsApp API provider?
Ask what it adds to Meta’s rate, whether you must prepay a wallet, what the first plan caps, whether it is an official Meta partner, whether the number stays in your own Meta business portfolio, and whether the WhatsApp Business app can stay on the number.
Can I switch WhatsApp API providers and keep my number?
Yes. Meta lets a number move between providers. You turn off two-step verification at the current provider and connect the number at the new one, in about five minutes. The messaging limit, quality rating, display name and tick come with it.
Who is the best WhatsApp API provider in India?
It depends on what you need. If your team will run campaigns, answer chats and use chatbots, compare what each provider adds to Meta’s rate of ₹0.8631 per marketing message and what the first plan includes. WhatChimp adds 0% and includes the inbox, chatbots and an AI agent from its first plan.
Is WhatChimp an official WhatsApp API provider?
Yes. WhatChimp is a Meta Business Partner on the official WhatsApp Business API. You connect your number in Meta’s own sign-up window, Meta bills you directly for messages, and WhatChimp adds 0% to them.
