Prerequisites #
Before importing your subscribers via CSV, ensure you have the following:
- Whatchimp Account
- Properly Formatted CSV File: Your file should include essential fields such as Name, Phone Number, and other custom fields for personalization.
- UTF-8 Encoding: The CSV file must be saved in UTF-8 format to prevent encoding issues.
Prepare Your CSV File #
1. Create a Spreadsheet #
Include columns for essential fields such as:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Other custom fields for personalization
2. Format Phone Numbers Correctly #
- Download a Sample CSV File to view the recommended structure before importing your own data.
- Ensure the phone number field contains no special characters (e.g., dots or letters) to avoid errors.
3. Save or Export as a UTF-8 CSV File #
- Google Sheets: Go to File > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv).
- Microsoft Excel: Convert the file to a Google Sheet before exporting to ensure UTF-8 compatibility with Whatchimp.
Import the CSV File #
You can import your CSV file using either Direct Import or Google Sheets Integration.
Direct Import #
- Go to Subscribers Manager > Import Subscribers.
- Upload your CSV file.
- Map your CSV columns to Whatchimp fields (e.g., Name → Full Name, Phone → Subscriber Phone Number).
- Click Confirm to complete the import.
- Duplicates will be automatically removed based on phone numbers.
